<p>TrueFacet offers a limited warranty on all watches sold through our marketplace. Under the TrueFacet warranty, we will repair any defects in the materials or workmanship as defined by the original manufacturer’s warranty.</p>
<h3>What does the TrueFacet Marketplace Warranty cover?</h3>
<p>This limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship within the Warranty Period as defined below. This also includes any water damage as defined under the parameters of the original manufacturer’s warranty.</p>
<h3>What does the TrueFacet Marketplace Warranty <em>not&nbsp;</em>cover?</h3>
<p>TrueFacet’s limited warranty does not cover external damage to the product including crystal damage, bracelet, strap or attachment, bezel, crowns, stems, finishes, clasps, “wear-and-tear”, accidental, incidental or physical damage. This also includes any water damage that exceeds the manufacturer’s limitation of water resistance or if otherwise specified on the product detail page. Any damage that occurs from having the watch serviced by a third party renders this warranty null and void. This warranty is valid only to the original purchaser and may not be transferred.</p>
<h3>What is the TrueFacet Marketplace Warranty period?</h3>
<p>TrueFacet will honor the manufacturer’s warranty on all never-worn watches. Unless otherwise indicated in the listing, all never-worn watches have a 2-year warranty. All other pre-owned watches have a 1-year warranty. Vintage watches do not come with a watch warranty.</p>
<h3>Where can my watch be serviced under the TrueFacet Marketplace Watch Warranty?</h3>
<p>To have your watch serviced under the TrueFacet warranty, email support@truefacet.com or call 1-800-690-3736 and a concierge associate will arrange to have your item shipped back to us, free of charge. Our highly qualified, professional watchmakers can repair virtually any watch and use only authentic and genuine parts. If the watch is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, we will return the watch to the respective manufacturer or an authorized manufacturer repair facility.</p>
<p>Any watch serviced by a non-authorized third party may render the warranty void and TrueFacet will not be responsible for any damage or costs incurred from that service.</p>
<h3>What is the watch warranty for TrueFacet Brand Boutique?</h3>
<p>TrueFacet Brand Boutique is an authorized partner of all the included brands. All of the watches sold on the TrueFacet Brand Boutique are new and come directly from the manufacturer, complete with a Manufacturer Warranty. Depending on the brand, this warranty can range from 2 to 5 years and will be specified on the product listing.</p>

                <p>Frédérique Constant was founded by husband and wife team Peter Stas and Aletta Bax in 1988. In the centuries-old world of horology, the barely 30-year-old brand is considered a newcomer to the space. However, in Frédérique Constant’s comparatively short existence, it has firmly established itself as a bold risk-taker that is leading the charge in designing classical luxury watches at an affordable price.</p>
                <p class="toggleable hidden">In the wake of the Quartz Crisis, traditional watch brands were struggling to compete with the new-fangled and inexpensive quartz watches. Watch brands doubled-down on their efforts to produce high-end mechanical watches—just as they had for decades—and aggressively competed for dwindling market share. But Aletta and Peter were acutely aware of an underserved demand for modestly-priced and classically-designed watches, complete with a mechanical movements.</p>
                <p class="toggleable hidden">Without any watch-making experience—Aletta was a lawyer and Peter was a product-marketing manager for Royal Philips Electronics—the pair brought Frédérique Constant to life. The brand was named after Aletta’s great-grandmother and Peter’s great-grandfather. After years of research and development, Frédérique Constant debuted six watch models outfitted with Swiss movements and assembled by a master watchmaker in Geneva in 1992.</p>
                <p class="toggleable hidden">What was so disruptive about the Frédérique Constant designs was a front aperture that displayed the watch’s movement from the top and the back. At the time, movements were only showcased through a crystal case back. Frédérique Constant’s revolutionary decision to showcase the movement dually on the front and back floored its competitors and marveled new fans who delighted in the mechanical movement. And, atop its design wonders, Frédérique Constant watches retailed for thousands less than competing brands.</p>
                <p class="toggleable hidden">Today, Frédérique Constant is a growing powerhouse in the watch industry. The maison has had to expand its facilities into a stunning 3,200-square-meter headquarters in Geneva. Here Frédérique Constant produces its movement components and assembles its calibres and watches, before the timepieces must pass rigorous quality control inspections.</p>
                <p class="toggleable hidden">The brand firmly adheres to its core mission: to design and produce high-quality classical watches at a sensible price. To that end, Frédérique Constant brilliantly streamlines the watch’s components, effectively reducing the number of components that need to be manufactured and serviced. This brings the retail cost down without compromising the quality or integrity of the design.</p>

                <p>Comparatively new to today’s horology scene, Manufacture Royale was actually first founded in 1770. And even more surprising, Manufacture Royale was the business venture of the prolific French Enlightenment writer Voltaire.</p>
                <p>Voltaire established the Manufacture Royale workshop in Ferney, France, along the Swiss border. Although Voltaire was largely at odds with the French court, dignitaries applauded Voltaire’s business and considered it an opportunity for French watchmakers to compete with the leading Geneva-made watches.</p>
                <p class="toggleable hidden">As the brand’s de facto ambassador, Voltaire spread word about Manufacture Royale, showing his handsomely-made, elaborately-engraved and generously-embellished pocket watches to European royalty and elite social circles. However, with Voltaire’s death in 1778, the workshop closed and the Manufacture Royale brand faded into obscurity.</p>
                <p class="toggleable hidden">In 2010, the dormant brand was revived by cousins Alexis, David and Marc Gouten. After 250 years, the Manufacture Royale workshops began producing watches once again. Like its famous philosopher founder, Manufacture Royale’s presence in the horology space today defies convention and champions individual liberty and expression.</p>
                <p class="toggleable hidden">Today, Manufacture Royale’s master watchmakers and craftsmen develop inimitable watches. True to its brand’s core ethos, the bold (and sometimes opinion-polarizing) designs are certainly not for the faint of heart. Manufacture Royale produces an incredibly limited 120 watches a year so these watches are meant for fashion-forward wearers who want to build their own legacy.</p>

<p>As a child, Misahara founder and lead designer Lepa Galeb-Roskopp split her time between the States and the Balkan region. Every summer, Lepa’s family would bring her along on the long trip across the ocean to visit their Serbian relatives.</p>
<p>The region's breathtaking landscape left a lasting impression upon Lepa, despite her young age. The crystalline waters of the Adriatic Sea, the looming cliffs of the Bay of Kotor, and the historic architecture of Montenegro, coupled with the strong family ties and memories made there, inextricably bonded Lepa to the region. And when Lepa started her own family, she shared this pastime with her three children. Lepa’s family makes annual trips to the Balkan region—taking advantage of the chance to reconnect with family members and their heritage.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">As an adult, Lepa studied business and worked for her family’s real estate company. However, never content to remain idle, Lepa broadened her interests into jewelry-making. She began refashioning fine jewelry from her personal collection to suit her evolving tastes.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">Lepa’s aesthetic was largely inspired by the regional and traditional ensembles she would observe during her travels. In a deliberate break from conventional jewelry styles, she created a fresh look that folded these international influences into her inherent sense of style—pieces imbued with a kind of globetrotting glamour.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">This personal project—an outlet to exercise her creative mind—quickly grew into a bigger initiative. Friends and even passersby were intrigued by Lepa’s original designs, asking where they could buy it for themselves. And with this positive momentum building behind her, Lepa launched Misahara in 2012.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">Today, the Misahara collection is a beautiful reflection of Lepa’s childhood and adventurous spirit. The bold designs, elaborate motifs and the colorful gemstones of Misahara pieces are informed by the muse region. <p>NANIS lead designer Laura Bicego is the second generation in a family of jewelry-makers. Having learned the trade from a very young age, Laura fostered her love for jewelry-making while working alongside her father.</p>
<p>Laura’s family hails from the Vicenza, Italy, a village rich with centuries’ worth of goldsmith tradition and, today, is considered Italy’s premier gold center. Remarkably, despite Vicenza’s vast production, most of its goods still come from modest family-run workshops, honoring the region’s longstanding jewelry-making traditions.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">NANIS was founded in 1990 by Laura and her husband Piero Marangon. The brand has thrived in the Vicenza region, growing from a small team of three to a 100-person operation— all while maintaining close control over its production which still employs Vicenza’s time-honored craft-making techniques.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">Laura is the creative spirit of the NANIS brand. While her father crafted individual pieces of jewelry, Laura envisioned a thoughtful collection of luxurious and feminine designs. NANIS began as a reflection of Laura’s personal style and taste: modern elegance bathed with artistic flair.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">The NANIS collection includes unexpected and uniquely twisted and sculpted shapes that are finely attuned to today’s tastes and produced with traditional goldsmith methods. Laura’s designs are further distinguished by its signature matte brush finish that takes 10 hours alone to cure and gives NANIS’s gold jewelry its signature silky texture.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">Laura and her team meticulously craft each piece to be comfortable and lightweight and will revisit and fine-tune her past favorites to perfect their design. <p>Tutima was founded by Dr. Ernst Kurtz in 1927, and it has been producing watches ever since. It was the result of the unification of two watch companies in Glashütte, Germany, the city of timepieces. The name Tutima is derived from the Latin term <em>tutum</em>, which translates to “safe” or “secure” in English. This was the concept that drove Tutima: the brand was dedicated to producing timepieces that were durable and reliable, ideas that seemed far out of reach in the tumultuous political climate of the years following Tutima’s creation.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">Determined to make sure their watches were authentic Glashütte pieces, Tutima’s factories in the famous watchmaking city soldiered through the bulk of World War II until they were completely destroyed in a devastating air raid in 1945. Dr. Kurtz and several of his employees managed to escape to Gandersekee in western Germany after the destruction of the factories. Despite the relocation, Tutima’s utilization of the horological traditions of Glashütte continued under Kurtz’s command until his apprentice Dieter Delecate, the man Kurtz thought of like a son, took over in his place. With Delecate’s unyielding determination, not only did he manage to keep Tutima afloat, but he also breathed new life into the brand’s stagnating image while maintaining its roots in Glashütte watchmaking tradition.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">When the Iron Curtain fell in 1991 and Germany was unified once more, Delecate began his machinations to bring Tutima back to Glashütte. Slowly, Tutima built itself back up in the famed watchmaking center that it called home. By 2011, the transition was complete, and since then, the brand has finally been able to classify its timepieces as authentic products of Glashütte.</p>

<p>The water clock or <em>clepsydra</em> is one of the earliest timekeeping methods on record, traced back to the ancient Egyptians in 1500 BC. The water clock was later used by the ancient Greeks in 325 BC and by the Chinese in 725 AD.</p>
<p>Across these disparate countries and eras, the technology of the water clock remained largely the same: a raised stone vessel allowed water to steadily drip into a second vessel. In this outflow system, the passage of time was observed by the change in water levels, marked with measured lines inside the vessel. By not relying on the cosmos or the sun to keep time, the water clock method was a horological breakthrough.</p>
<p>Throughout the centuries, water clocks, naturally, became obsolete—supplanted by new and better ways of tracking the passage of time. However, the Swiss watch brand HYT is taking up the mantle of carrying on this archaic method of time-keeping, re-engineering and reimagining it for the 21st century.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">Patrick Berdoz and Vincent Perriard, the watchmakers behind HYT, were transfixed by the idea of using a liquid to observe time. The pair ultimately spent ten years in their relentless pursuit of translating the water clock into a modern watch. The end result is a mind-bending engineering marvel.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">HYT’s technology uses a proprietary mechanical movement that compresses a bellow, which in turn pushes a tinted liquid through a glass capillary to indicate the time. Still rooted in centuries-old applied science, HYT’s novel approach to indicating time is like a progress bar for the hours passed in a day, perfectly suited for today’s tech-minded society.</p>

<p>Mb-microtec began in 1918 in Switzerland as Merz + Beneteli AG. The brainchild of chemists Walter Merz and Albert Beneteli, Merz + Beneteli AG was on the leading edge of luminescent material development for the watch and instruments industry.</p>
<p>When Merz’s son-in-law, physicist Oskar Thuler, joined the firm, he brought a host of new and innovative ideas to produce luminescent paints and self-luminous light sources. Thuler’s groundbreaking science built upon the previous work of Merz and Beneteli and ultimately lead to Trigalight, a revolutionary illumination technology that works without batteries and doesn’t rely on an external light source to charge.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">Within the Trigalight system, tiny glass tubes are coated with an ultra-thin layer of phosphor powder. These tubes are then filled with trace amounts of tritium gas and finally sealed. Once the two compounds are introduced, the phosphor powder emits light and vividly glows in low light or complete darkness. This entire chemical reaction is self-activated and does not require sunlight or an external power supply to light up.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">Merz + Beneteli reinvented itself as mb-microtec in 1968 and made this micro-technology its primary focus. In 1989, mb-microtec dovetailed its technology into the commercial sphere with Taser Swiss H3 Watches. <p>Tockr’s story begins with Eugene Xerzes Martin, Jr., a World War II lieutenant with the Army Air Transport Command.</p>
<p>Lt. Martin first served as a flight instructor, training P-51 Mustang fighter pilots. He went on to fly a military transport aircraft the C-46 Skytrain, delivering supplies to units stationed in China. Dubbed “The Hump” by Allied pilots, the flight path above the eastern end of the Himalayan Mountains between China and India was extremely dangerous. With little to no radio contact or reliable charts, pilots had to rely on their grit and flying skills to brave the volatile and inclement weather of the mountain range. Lt. Martin bravely and successfully flew 52 missions and was award the China War Memorial Medal.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">After serving his country with great distinction, Lt. Martin retired from the military but continued to fly recreationally. He and his grandson Austin bonded over the countless flight hours logged in Lt. Martin’s plane, soaring over the rolling plains of their home state of Texas. These memories fostered the young Austin’s passion for planes and deep respect for pilots like his grandfather.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">Thirty years later, Austin’s love for flight is rivaled only by his interest in watches. In homage to his courageous grandfather and fellow aces of the Golden Age of Aviation, Austin developed Tockr, a collection of finely-crafted watches largely inspired by the radial engines of airplanes.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">Tockr’s debut collections are named the C-47 and Air Defender in honor of Lt. Martin’s illustrious flying career. These handsome watches are a cool tribute to the rapid, era-defining aeronautic advances of the early 20th century: streamlined designs, breakthrough aero engines, and the introduction of luxury air travel.</p>

<p>The long history of VAN DER BAUWEDE GENEVE stretches back four generations, starting with Alexis Van Der Bauwede.</p>
<p>Born in Belgium in 1873, Alexis established his reputation as a highly adept watchmaker early in his career. While Alexis specialized in handling delicate clocks and chimes, he was also tasked with the complex installation and repair of the neighboring town’s enormous cathedral and city hall clocks. Over time, Alexis broadened his skill set and dabbled with fine jewelry, unearthing an incredible natural talent for jewelry design.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">Continuing the Van Der Bauwede watch and jewelry business, Alexis’s son Michel assumed the helm in 1930 at the young age of 24. Michel specialized in pocket watches, which held a unique fascination for the budding entrepreneur. As the Van Der Bauwede name gained renown and recognition, Michel expanded the brand’s watch and jewelry categories and opened the first Van Der Bauwede boutique in Lille, France. The store, which was a magnificent converted 18th century Flemish house, would remain the brand’s headquarters for the next 50 years.</p>
<p class="toggleable hidden">The Van Der Bauwede collection’s popularity would boom under Pierre Van Der Bauwede, who stepped in to lead the company after his father Michel’s death in 1965. Originally educated in medicine and physics, Pierre brought his unique scientific perspective to Van Der Bauwede and gemology. Pierre would go on to invent the VDB Diamond Cut in 1991. Pierre’s breakthrough diamond was the first-ever rectangular diamond: this magnificent stone had an impressive 57 facets that reflected light and dazzled the eye as well as a round-shaped diamond would.</p>

                <p>Born in Israel, and raised there in addition to Switzerland and Turkey, Yossi Harari, the grandson of an art and antiques collector, grew up surrounded by beautiful, worldly objects and ancient artifacts that delighted his senses. Influenced by his grandfather’s vast collections, Yossi developed his passion for jewelry design at an early age. When he was 11 years old, Yossi redesigned a diamond ring for his mother, and it was this artistic endeavor that set him on a course of creativity and design from which he has never strayed.</p>
                <p>Yossi went on to receive formal training and degrees in gemology and jewelry design from the Gemological Institute of America in Los Angeles and in history of arts from Tel Aviv University in Israel. In 1992, Yossi launched his namesake brand when he opened his atelier in Istanbul, where his designs are still developed and produced. Not only does he work with pure 24K gold and his own trademarked metal alloy, 'gilver', a combination of sterling silver and 24K gold, but he also uses the finest stones available. In addition, Yossi Harari and his artisans meticulously handcraft each piece, implementing goldsmithing techniques that are centuries old.</p>

<p>In 2008, Franck Dubarry walked away from his watch brand TechnoMarine, the fastest growing luxury watch brand in the marketplace.</p>
<p>Dubarry founded TechnoMarine in 1997 and the brand quickly set itself apart as a maverick in the industry by being the first to incorporate new and unconventional materials (including plastics, diamonds, colored ceramics, mother-of-pearl, and exotic skins) into highly original and inventive watch designs. Dubarry’s unconventional approach to watchmaking cracked open a whole new and untapped market and marked TechnoMarine as an innovative brand for individualistic tastemakers. Over the next ten years, TechnoMarine sales quickly sky-rocketed with 2.5 million watches in 1,000 different styles sold in over 100 countries.</p>
<p>And it was during this meteoric heyday that Dubarry stepped away from the brand.</p>
